The Almendres cromlech is a megalithic complex in the outskirts of Évora which attest the historical background importance of the region. This well-kept site is the largest remaining site of this nature in the Iberian Peninsula, and the structures date back 6th millennium BC. Its ancientness is astonishing, striking and unique.
