2 Day Great Zimbabwe Excursion From Bulawayo

This excursions gives travellers the opportunity to explore the hidden wonders of Masvingo, from the captivating architecture and archeology of the monuments to the refreshing breeze of the lake and wildlife its an excursion worth going for.

Itinerary

Day 1: Great Zimbabwe Excursion: Travelers depart from Bulawayo @ 7am for Masvingo.

Stop At: Great Zimbabwe National Monument, Masvingo Zimbabwe
Travellers visit the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe, once Zimbabwe's capital, which is the biggest and most significant stone archeological complex in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The ancient city is divided into 3 complexes with different architectural designs, The Hill complex, the Great enclosure and the Valley ruins.
Some the activities visitors can participate in include hiking, sightseeing, viewing artefacts, traditional music and indigenous material displays.
Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Zvishavane, Zvishavane, Midlands Province
Travelers get to see the mining town of Zvishavane, and the beautiful scenic hills along the way from Bulawayo.
The town developed as a residential centre for Shabani Mine, which started operations in 1916 to supply asbestos during the First World War.
Growth was slow due to poor communications until the railway reached the town in 1928. Although the asbestos mine is the biggest producer of the mineral in Zvishavane, platinum, gold, beryl, chromite, iron ore at Buchwa and huge deposits of diamond at Murowa are also mined in the area.

The surrounding area is dominated by cattle ranching, while peasant agriculture is practiced in the nearby communal lands of Mberengwa and Buchwa.

Day 2: Lake Kyle Expedition

Stop At: Lake Kyle, Zimbabwe
Visitors get to see the Dam wall, enter the Lake Kyle recreational park for game veiwing of white Rhino, buffalos, Hippos and lots of other vast wildlife, canor=eing or boat rides in the lake
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Lake Mutirikwi, Zimbabwe
Visitors get to see the Dam wall, enter the Lake Kyle recreational park for game viewing of white Rhino, buffaloes, Hippos and lots of other vast wildlife, canoeing or boat rides in the lake
Duration: 3 minutes
