Green Levada Running Tour (Easy-Moderate)

In this tour you experience how great and relaxing it is to run on a Levada surrounded by green and humid native forest and stunning views to the mountains.

This tour is made for all fitness levels, even if you're not an experienced runner.

This is a must do activity while in Madeira.

Itinerary

This trail running experience starts on Poiso (1412m) and heads to Levada do Furado in Ribeiro Frio (900m), passing through the scenic viewpoint of Balcões.

The track is a loop of 14km and about 500m elevation gain/loss. The terrain is made of dirt, sometimes muddy, and rocks and roots.

The trail starts with a short flat section in the forest to warm up, before we head down to the Levada (water channel), where we will run around 6km flat before going up again to the start point.
