You will get to visit 2 countries (Malaysia, Indonesia) during this fully-guided tour.
Begin with a morning pickup at your Singapore hotel. Arrive at the harbour to board a 1-hour high-speed ferry to the Indonesian town of Batam, the largest city in the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia.
Upon arrival in Batam, you will first visit a Buddhist temple featuring the tallest Goddess Of Mercy statue in Indonesia. Next, you will visit the iconic Batam Hindu temple featuring unique Balinese architecture. After which, you will sample the famous local layer cakes at a local bakery, also affectionately known to the locals as Kueh Lapis. This fascinating Kueh Lapis is not difficult to make, but it requires time and a lot of patience. The bakers hover next to the oven for a couple of hours grilling each layer of batter. Kueh Lapis is typically served in small, thin, rich and fragrant slices.
At around lunchtime, you will board a 1-hour Airbus Malindo ATR flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital.
Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, you will head to the famous Batu Caves on the edges of Kuala Lumpur. View the Hindu shrines contained within these sacred caves, and then continue into the city to the Petronas Twin Towers. The skybridge and observation deck of these world-famous towers offers bird’s-eye city views. Finally, admire five other must-sees of Kuala Lumpur - the National Palace, Sultan Abdul Samad (former supreme court and government offices of the British colonial administration), National Monument, National Mosque, and Independence Square. If time permits, you will be given some time for shopping at the Suria KLCC megamall.
In the evening, you will be brought to the Kuala Lumpur bus station to board a Business Class coach back to Singapore. Relax in your spacious reclinable seat as your Business Class coach handles the highway with ease. Depending on traffic conditions, you will arrive back at Singapore at around 1130pm where your coach will drop you off at a Singapore Downtown taxi stand.
