Half-Day Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Walking Tour with a Local Guide from Munich by Train

Get a deeper understanding of the darkest part of Germany's history during this half-day tour of Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. With a guide, travel from Munich to the camp by train. Take a tour of the cells, barracks, and gas chamber as you learn about Munich's role in the development of the Nazi Party. Pay your respects at the memorial site, and watch a moving documentary about the camp. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed on the tour.

To begin this half-day tour, meet your guide at 10:15am at the Tourist Information kiosk in central Munich's Marienplatz. (There's also an afternoon departure offered during summer months, which you may select when booking.) Travel with your guide to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site by train (it takes about an hour), and take a guided tour of all areas of the camp once you arrive.

Walk with your guide through the cells, barracks, and gas chamber. Learn the meaning behind the pictures and the museum exhibits as you read thought-provoking accounts of prisoners’ own experiences — from the camp's creation until their liberation by US forces in 1945. You'll also watch a 22-minute documentary film in English, and have an opportunity to pay your respects at the memorial. The tour concludes back at the Munich Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station).
