Half Day Muscat City Tour

On this 4-hour city tour of Muscat you will see the Grand Mosque, Muttrah Souk, AL Alam Palace, Jilali and Mirani Forts, and Bait Al Zubair Musuem.

After breakfast, around 08:30am, start your tour with a visit to the magnificent Grand Mosque, built with sandstone and marble. The main prayer hall features a beautiful handmade Persian carpet and a Swarovski crystal chandelier. After your visit to the Mosque, drive through the Embassy area (photography prohibited) to the old part of Muscat. There you can see the Sultans Al Alam Palace and the two 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali (outside only). Discover Oman’s rich cultural heritage at this house, the Bait Al Zubair Museum which was converted into a museum in 1998. It displays a fine collection of traditional jewellery, weapons and costumes.

Your last stop will be Muttrah Souq, one of the oldest preserved souqs in Oman. It is a traditional Omani market that offers a wide range of goods and souvenirs, such as silver jewellery and frankincense. After a full half day tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Muscat.
