Fraser Island Sailing Adventure Cruise and Dolphin Watching from Hervey Bay

Enjoy this half-day dolphin watching tour from Hervey Bay allowing guests to see, experience and learn about the variety of wild dolphins that exist in the waters surrounding Hervey Bay, the Great Sandy Strait and Fraser Island. You'll also enjoy small passenger numbers, expert commentary and free Wi-Fi on-board. During the warmer months you'll have the chance to swim, go boom netting test your balance on the AquaMat or swim to the shore of Fraser Island. Morning tea is also provided.

The waters of Great Sandy Strait are home to two species of dolphins, dugongs and turtles. The tour operates between October and July of each year departing the marina in Hervey Bay at 8:30am and returning at approximately at 12:30pm.

During your cruise, you will also have the opportunity to stop for a swim at the pristine Pelican Banks off the west coast of Fraser Island or at the beaches of Fraser Island itself. For those a little more adventurous there is also a boom net to be tried.

The two resident species are the bottlenose dolphins and the lesser known Australian humpback dolphins. The tour has a 95% success rate of having a dolphin encounter. As a sailing vessel the 11.6-meter vessel can provide an exhilarating experience under sail with the advent of good winds.
