With the help of our local food enthusiasts, eat your way through Venice on this two and a half hour tour. With a local foodie expert by your side, you'll go off the beaten path and immerse yourself into the local tastes and culture of Venice. Your small group (maximum of 10 participants) will be shown what to eat, where and when, whilst also learning about the history of food in Venice and how Venetian food has shaped our perceptions of Italian food. In Italy, a good time starts with great food!

There are two words that you may hear a lot in Venice - "Cicchetti" and "Bacari". The word Cicchetti comes from Venetian dialect, meaning "a small and savory snack", something eaten by locals in various little Bacari (local wine bars).  The variety of cicchetti is amazing and you get to tuck into several as your local foodie guide leads you to the best and hidden bacari on the island.

Prosecco for Breakfast! - If you're visiting the most magical island on earth, why not drink prosecco for breakfast - it's made in the surrounding region after all!  The first stop on this local food tour introduces you to your first taste of cicchetti, with some local bubbly wine to accompany.

A Hop, Skip & a Gondola! - A trip to Venice wouldn't be complete without a ride on a gondola. Instead of taking the bridge to cross Venice's Grand Canal, your local guide will take you across the water on a short 2-minute gondola ride!  Cameras at the ready!

The Spritz - After sampling some cicchetti and prosecco at your first stop, you'll progress onto another variety at your second Bacaro stop. Enter the Spritz! Whether you have a sweet tooth or like bitter drinks, there is a Spritz for everyone, along with some other delicious cicchetti to sample alongside.

Ombra & Lunch - The slang word for a small glass of wine is called an "Ombra".  This means “shade” in Italian and your local guide will explain why the wine has acquired such a name.  Stop number three will give you a taste of the local favorite Ombra, but now you've sampled the local cicchetti, it's time for something more substantial. Bring on the pasta!  A food tour would never be complete without a local lunch included.

Cooling Down With Gelato - No matter where you are in Italy, there will always be a number one favorite gelateria.  You’ll learn how to spot the best gelato in Italy as you choose from some local favorites in one of Venice's best "Gelaterie".

At the end of the tour, your guide will happily show you where to catch the nearest "Vaporetto" (water bus) or Water Taxi so you can cruise back to your accommodation or explore a little more.
