Itinerary
Enjoy a hike in the western part of Fuerteventura and discover the Las Peñitas gorge near Ajuy and the Chapel of the Saints. Walk up the gorge to the place where the patron saint of Fuerteventura once appeared, the Virgen de la Peña. The figure of Saint Mary can still be found in a small chapel today. Enjoy a fantastic view over the entire valley far from the beaten track. If you are lucky, you will see wild goats and birds of prey.
Go to the fishing village of Ajuy, 5 kilometers away, for the second part of your hike. Discover this magnificent stretch of coast, which is not only a natural monument, but also the oldest part of the island. Walk along the rugged coastline to a secluded black beach with a huge rock gate. Listen to the legend of this seemingly mystical place amid untouched nature.
Return to the village of Ajuy and enjoy traditional tapas and wine in a small restaurant. Let the day fade away in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere before returning to the hotel.
