Pokhara is Nepal's number 1 adventure and leisure city, a trekking gateway to the Annapurna's with plenty of entertainment for individual travelers as well as families with kids. In Pokhara you can experience the best in trekking, boating, hiking, pony rides, paragliding or simply relax at one of the lakes near the city with the stunning Annapurna mountain range at the background.

Pokhara will overwhelm you with one of the greatest photo spots in the world. While you walk along the shores of the Fewa lake you will be surrounded by a panoramical view over the Himalayan peaks of the Annapurna Massif that reflect in this lake. A beautiful color combination that is created by the wooden boats and paragliders that are sailing, flying and rowing over the lake is probably going to be one of the highlights of your travel experience in Nepal.

SHANTI STUPA/PEACE PAGODA Hike

Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda-style monument on a hilltop in Ananda hill in Pokhara, Nepal. Shanti Stupa in Pokhara was built by Nipponzan-Myōhōji monk Morioka Sonin with local supporters under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk and the founder of Nipponzan-Myōhōji. Shanti is a Sanskrit word meaning peace, also widely used in Nepali and Hindi language, and Shanti Stupa means Peace Pagoda. Shanti Stupa is the shrine built as a symbol of peace. The spot situated at the height of 1100 meters on the Ananda Hill was chosen by Nichidatsu Fujii and he laid the foundation stone as well with the relics of Buddha on the hilltop on 12 September 1973.

The World Peace Pagoda in Pokhara is painted a splendid white and sits on a hilltop overlooking the Annapurnas reflecting on Phewa Lake below. It is one of the most serene peace pagodas in the world. Constructed soon after World War 2 by Japanese Buddhist monks of Nipponzan Myohoji Organization the World Peace Pagoda is one of more than 80 world peace pagodas around the today. They are built to inspire peace for all races and beliefs. The hike starts from the Lakeside. We take a boat to cross Phewa Lake. After around 30 minutes boating we get down to the shore and start hiking. Within about 45 minutes hiking through the forest, we reach Peace Pagoda. After enjoying the picturesque views of the Himalayas reflecting on the Phewa Lake and admiring the well built Peace Stupa, we walk down from the other side of the hill to Chhorepatan (Tibetan Refugee Camp). Here we stop for the lunch. After lunch, we take a private car back to the hotel.4-5 Hours
