Donner Party was the most famous tragedy in the history of the westward migration. Immerse yourself and relive the ill-faited Donner hardships and the rich historical importance of this area. Re- live the trials and struggles of the early pioneers that paved the way west to California and during the Gold Rush of 1849 and the Silver Comstock Load of 1859. The way west vie the Imigrent trail, the transcontinental railroad and the Lincoln Hwy all of which passed through the Nevada Territory, Reno and the Sierras.

Your scenic and historic tour begins with a free pickup from your hotel with one of our 4 wheel drive shuttles. Your tour guide will take guests to historical and important sites in the Reno area before departing along the historic Emigrant Trail, including lost Boomtowns and the route of the Donner Party. Following a rest stop at Donner Lake and the Donner Memorial your shuttle will follow the route of the pioneers through scenic byways to Lake Tahoe and Historic Sites along the way including photo stops of Tahoe and the Western Divide. You will learn about the great western expansion from 1840 - 1870 and how Reno and Lake Tahoe were important during the period. Snacks and beverages are provided for each person in the tour.
