Hoover Dam Tour /Paddle Boat Cruise on Lake Mead

One of seven Industrial World Wonders, Hoover Dam is a concrete gravity-arch dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between Arizona and Nevada. You’ll take the elevator with tour guide to the bottom as he/she describes this modern marvel. At the bottom, you’ll tour the powerplant, seventeen main turbine-generator combinations that generate a maximum of 2,074 megawatts of hydroelectric power. Following the Dam Tour, we travel to Lake Mead National Park where we will board the Mississippi style Desert Princess boat. This cruise will travel scenic Lake Mead where you’ll see Hoover Dam from the water side. The boat has a restaurant and bar so you can grab lunch or a cocktail during this relaxing journey. On top is an open observation deck to take in the fresh air of Lake Mead.

Tour the world-famous Hoover Dam. Learn about the engineering and history of Hoover Dam as well as highlights of the unique features around the dam. Exhibits, reclamation presentations, films, and other media materials are used to create an interesting educational tour.

Stop At: Lake Mead National Recreation Area, NV 89005

This unique tour couples a historical educational experience with a relaxing, scenic paddle-boat experience. Board the Desert Princess paddle boat for a relaxing, scenic 90 tour of Glen Canyon and Lake Mead to the Hoover Dam. Climate controlled decks with an open promenade deck to take in the fresh. Full bar and generously portioned lunches from the Paddlewheel Grill located on the middle deck.
