Husky Tour Sit and Drive Combo Tour from Kiruna

Our sit and back combo tour is a tour where you get to try both being the driver and a passenger! Together with a partner/friend one of you gets to drive the team of 5 dogs whilst the other person sits on the sled. Half way you can swap over so the person sitting can also try to drive. On this tour it is two people per sled. We give you a short instruction and mush mostly in our own home made trail which covers a varied landscape. You each get to harness one dog and when back at the kennel can help reward your dogs by feeding them. We encourage full participation so you can also help to unharness and put the dogs back into their yards.

Pick up is either at 12:45 from Camp Ripan hotel /Tourist information office in central Kiruna or 13:00 from Icehotel Jukkasjarvi main reception. After pick up we drive to our kennel which is approx 45 kms from Kiruna away from the touristic areas. Once at our kennel you can borrow warm gear (coverall, boots) at no extra cost. (Please note we expect you to return the gear in good order or there will be a fee!) You get a short instruction as to how to sit on the sled, how to drive the sled and how to harness a dog before heading off into the wilderness. The total distance covered is approx 18 kms. Our trail covers a varied landscape. Our trails are home made. When we get back to the kennel, you can feed your own team of dogs, unharness them and return them to their yards. We also get a chance to warm up by the fire and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with a cinnamon roll. You have the chance to ask questions to the guide and time permitting visit the rest of the kennel.  After the trip you return our gear to us and we head back to kiruna by minivan.
