Kareri Lake Trek

Kareri Lake Trek is located at an elevation of about 2,950 meters in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is a perfect weekend getaway if you want to switch off from your monotonous routine and get close to nature. Surrounded by mountains and alpine trees, the Kareri Lake Trek is formed by the flow of the water bodies from by the Minkiani peak. The trek to Kareri Lake Trek is one of the most scenic alpine treks in Himachal Pradesh that goes to several gushing streams and passes through green meadows. You will come across artistic shepherd villages that have a charm of their own. Other attractions are the Lord Shiva temple which is worth a visit. The trail to Kareri Lake Trek will definitely interest you if you're interested in bird watching as there are various species of birds to look out for. So be ready with your cameras for that perfect capture. The forests here are a mix of pines and shrubs which act as perfect hiding for some exclusive birds.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dharamshala to Kareri Village- 25 Km | Kareri Village to Rioti – 8 Km

Stop At: Kareri Lake, Kareri Dharmshala Himachal Pradesh Kareri Village, Kangra 176216 India
- Arrival at Dharamshala in morning
- Transfer to Kareri village from Dharamshala bus stand (25 Km)
- Lunch will be served depending upon your timings
- Start your trek towards Rioti campsite
- Reach Rioti village by evening
- Evening snacks will be served
- Dinner & overnight stay in camps at Rioti campsite

Day 2: Rioti to Kareri Lake

Stop At: Kareri Lake, Kareri Dharmshala Himachal Pradesh Kareri Village, Kangra 176216 India
-Breakfast in morning
-Start your trek towards Kareri Lake
-Reach Kareri Lake and have sightseeing at Lord Shiva temple
-Packed lunch will be served at Kareri Lake site
-Have a full sightseeing view at Kareri lake
-Evening snacks will be served in the evening
-Dinner & overnight stay in camps at Kareri

Day 3: Kareri Lake to Kareri Village

-Start trekking back towards Kareri village
-Transfer to Dharamshala bus stand from Kareri village
-Reach Dharamshala bus stand by evening
