Uji is located in the southern part of Kyoto and is well known for tea, especially matcha. We will also visit the renowned, almost 1,000 year old Byodoin Temple whose main building and phoenix statues are depicted on Japanese coins and bills. Let’s compare those to the real thing which is much more beautiful than drawings.
