The Lost Village Hike

Recommended items to enjoy your experience:
- sun protection: sunscreen, lip balm, hat, sunglasses
- comfortable shoes
- swimming gear
- healthy snacks

As a rule of thumb, please inform someone you know when you are starting the hike and when you expect to return.
If needed, trekking poles could be arranged at an extra charge.

- Please do not leave trash behind and if you see any trash laying around, kindly do the community a favour and collect it.
- All participants should follow instructions of the Hiking Guide.
- If you have any chronic diseases or any injuries, please let us know beforehand.

Itinerary

This is a demanding hike into the gorge and abandoned village of Masirat Ash Shuraqiyin with spectacular views of Hajar Mountains.

The Path
The path is well formed with some obstacles and exposed sections, steep at some parts.

The Route
The trek starts at a small village of Mohaibis and continuously leads down the wadi. After passing a wonderful hidden village of Al Khutaymi and a huge cave, you will reach the most exciting natural swimming pool in Jebel Al Akhdar where you can enjoy its cool water. After descending to Masirat Ash Shuraqiyin and recharging our batteries, we choose our route back to the starting point.

Scenery
Enchanting mountain landscape throughout the hike and date plantations upon the descent to Masirat Ash Shuraqiyin village.
