Make Your Own Espadrilles Workshop

Awarded in 2019 and 2020 as TOP10 Worldwide Experiences. During this very unique workshop all guests will stitch their own Catalan Espadrilles, which they will keep as the most special souvenir of their trip. Our guests become artisans for 90 minutes.

All guests will meet at a real espadrilles workshop, in the emblematic Gothic Quarter, surrounded by a whole universe of tradition and history. Two artisans will lead the workshop, and will show and assist on not only how to make the espadrilles, but also how to wear them in different traditional ways according to Catalan culture.

It is local, unique, special, fun and something that only an insider could get.

Be prepared to be amazed, captivated and surprised by the owners, they are fun, engaging and they know all that is to know about espadrilles.

During our workshop you will build your own traditional Catalan espadrilles, the most traditional shoe on this region. You will become an artisan for 90 minutes together with Kathe and Luis, the founders, already famous for this fun experience!

First, we will introduce you to the story of espadrilles and their evolution. You will learn about this beautiful tradition, and how this shoe passed from being built by poor people, to be one of the most trendy in fashion nowadays.

Then every guest design and build their own traditional espadrilles, and then learn the different ways to tie them to the ankle. It will be fun, not difficult and very local, the only place to build your own traditional and cool "espardenyes".

Finally, each guest will leave with its own creation and with a really cool story to tell to friends, something that it is hardly available to the visitors, not even locals. You will have an amazing insider experience together with a remarkable and local pair of shoes.
