Atlas mountains, Berber villages and Agafay desert day trip

This is an amazing full day adventure that begins with the long serpentine trails of Agafay stony desert towards the majestic Atlas mountains passing by the big lake of Takrkoust and the massive plateau of Kik before getting to Molay Brahim valley where you shall leave the vehicle and ride the camels through the juniper forest for about 30 minutes. After the camel ride experience, you will across the Asni valley and head up to Sidi Fars or Ait mizane valley to get to one of the berber villages of the area for lunch.

During this adventure, you will combine between driving through paved road and off-road and between riding the camles and hikking through many Berber villages and green walnut fields

Stop At: Atlas Mountains

I am coming to meet you at your Riad/Hotel at 9am and start our day excursion towards the Atlas Mountains and its deep valleys, after a 30 kilometre drive to the south, we will make our first stop just before reaching our first valley of Asni to take pictures of the oldest berber village of Azrou . We will have the opportunity here to visit an argan cooperative to witness how the local women turn an Argan Nut into oil, whilst also enjoying a cup of fresh mint tea, peanut butter and local bread .

Stop At: Moulay Brahim, Moulay Brahim, Marrakech-Safi

The drive continues further into the Atlas valleys to reach an altitude of 1200m near the Moulay Brahim gorges where we will leave the car and ride the camels for about 30 minutes.
We will then make our way to the Ait Mizane valley; my home village where my family is waiting to welcome us with a fresh cup of  mint tea before serving a 3 course meal ( salad, tagine and berber couscous) on an open terrace with an extremely wide view over the whole valley. Here you will have the opportunity to exchange the culture and learn about the basic lifestyle of the locals.

After lunch I will take you for a unique  and scenic walk (1-3 hours) through the green fields and the typical berber villages to meet more of the local people who have been born and raised within the berber community. I will happily share my extensive knowledge of the Berber culture and heritage.

Stop At: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi

After the walk,we will drive back to Marrakesh. The experience ends back in Marrakech at around 5pm.

On a Saturdays and Tuesdays, we will stop in Asni village or Tahanaout town and take you in a tour through the local weekly market , find your way through the crow of local berbers coming from all the surrounding villages for socialising, exchange goods and animals and buy fresh vegetables, fruits and all their needs.
