Expert guides start off your adventure with a narrated ride to the Mendenhall Lake, where you get outfitted in our top quality gear for safety and comfort. After a quick paddle lesson, we canoe across the lake along the steep mountain cliffs to the Mendenhall Glacier. We strap on our crampons (traction spikes) and begin our journey of hiking on the glacier ice! With the help of our guides, this extended trip gives you the opportunity to to fully enjoy the glacier and its most unique ice formations, as well as the surrounding Tongass National Rainforest, with thundering waterfalls and abundant wildlife.
