3 Days Mikumi National Park

Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park. It’s also the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. With almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, it makes an ideal safari destination for those without much time. Since the completion of the paved road connecting the park gate with Dar es Salaam, Mikumi National Park has been slated to become a hotspot for tourism in Tanzania. Located between the Uluguru Mountains and the Lumango range, Mikumi is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and only a few hours’ drive from Tanzania’s largest city. The park has a wide variety of wildlife that can be easy spotted and also well acclimatized to game viewing. Its proximity to Dar es Salaam and the amount of wildlife that live within its borders makes Mikumi National Park a popular option for weekend visitors from the city, or for business visitors who don’t have to spend a long time on an extended safari itinerary.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro

Pass By: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
Pick you up from Airport/Home/Hotel and drive 5 hrs to Mikumi National Park. We will stop at Msolwa highway Restaurant and pick up our lunch boxes and proceed to Bwawani for a small picnic. Later on, we will proceed with our trip for Mikumi with afternoon game drive en route till evening. At evening game drive en route, you can see a rich variety of bird species, large numbers of giraffe, buffalo, and elephants. The later evening we will have an evening walk in Mikumi Town where you will be able to experience how people live and visit Marketplace for some coffee. Later on we will proceed to our booked hotel or lodge

Day 2: Full day game drive inside Mikumi National Park

Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
After breakfast will go for a full day game drive inside Mikumi national park. Today we have every chance of spotting lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Likely to be seen animals include zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland, crocodiles and antelope. Will take our lunch inside Mikumi National Park in Tanapa Cottages and later in the evening drive back to our booked hotel. After good refreshment, we will go for evening walk around Mikumi Town and visit Masai village. Our accommodation will be at Mikumi Resort and Campsite

Day 3: Snake Park Visit and Driving back to Dar es Salaam

Pass By: Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Dar Es Salaam Region
After breakfast we will proceed to the snake park for seeing snakes of different types, crocodiles and tortoise kept at the park and taking pictures for good adventurous memory. Later we shall start driving back to Dar es Salaam and drop you back at ferry or airport
