Safari in Mikumi NP 3 Days - Accommodation Inside the Park

Enjoy three days safari to Mikumi NP. Your safari will start from Dar es Salaam by 4x4 tourist Toyota Land Cruiser with window sitting guarantee heading to Mikumi NP. On the way you will pass through the wide field of sisal plantation. You will pass through the different landscape driving along the Uluguru Mountain, the long range of mountain which starting from southern Kenya (Taita Hills). You will arrive in Mikumi NP for three days game drive with accommodation inside the park or outside the park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi NP

Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
Day one:

Your driver/guide will pick you from the Airport, ferry or Hotel and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours’ drive. You will have a short stop in Morogoro for hot lunch. After Lunch proceed to Mikumi NP. Arrive for afternoon game drive until sunset.

Accommodation: Tanapa Tourist cottage. (Inside the park) or Mikumi Safari Lodge / Camp Bastian (outside the Park)

Meal plan –Lunch and Dinner.

Mikumi National Park was established in1964 covering an area of 1070 square kilometers; it was later extended in 1975 to cover the current area of 3,230 square kilometers. Mikumi National Park is located to the North of the famous Selous Game Reserve. The park is the fifth largest National Park in Tanzania and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam throughout the year Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles and many more. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.

Day 2: Full day game drive in Mikumi NP

Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
After breakfast you will go for full day game drive in Mikumi national park with parked lunch boxes. Animals commonly found Include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephants and many more. Wild dog can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.

Day 3: Mikumi NP to Dar es Salaam

Stop At: Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Dar Es Salaam Region
Start the day with early morning game drive. Enjoy the sunrise with morning game drive, this will take about two hours and a half and then drive back to the camp for breakfast. (For those who stay inside the Park), No game drive in this day for those who staying outside the park.

After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam with stopover on the way for hot lunch.

On arrival in Dar es Salaam you will be dropped off at airport, hotel or ferry terminal for the last ferry to Zanzibar.
