Mini Gobi and the ancient capital Kharkhorin - 4 days

On this tour, you can visit authentic nomad families and explore their life style while staying in their extra ger (yurt). You will have opportunity to see yaks and other animals. This tour covers two famous national parks where you can see wild horses and the "mini-gobi", gobi-type landscape which presents a unique combination of mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape all in one location. The most importantly, you can visit the one of the most historical site, the ruin of Kharkhorin city, once was at the same time a political, economic, administrative and religious centre, and one of the most important cities in the history of world trade holding an intense impact on the Silk Road. We hope you will enjoy horse and camel riding and the hiking activities.

Itinerary

Day 1: "mini" Gobi

Stop At: Elsen Tasarkhai, Mongolia
We'll drive to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes (“mini-Gobi”) and walking around the sand dunes to take photos. Visit nomad family to see their lifestyle and taste dairy products. After lunch, we’ll have ah hour of the Bactrian camel riding at the sand dunes.

Day 2: Erdene Zuu monastery

Stop At: Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin 62090 Mongolia
We'll drive to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolian Empire from 13th centuries. There, we’ll visit Erdene Zuu (Hundred treasures) monastery and local museum where we can explore incredible historical sites of ancient Empires of Stone and Bronze Ages.

Stop At: Orkhon Valley, Mongolia
After having lunch, we’ll further drive to beautiful Orkhon river valley. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its historical value related to Great Mongolian Empire. It's a picturesque place, where many nomad breeders set their summer camp. Before dinner, we’ll have horse riding for an hour in Orkhon valley.

Day 3: Khogno Khan Uul National park

Stop At: Khugnu Tarna, FJ7R+F5H, Shibertuin sume, Mongolia
We'll drive to Khogno Khan Uul National Park. It's a unique place with many different forms of landscape. Near the splendid mountain, Khogno Khan, Near the splendid mountain, Khogno Khan, we'll visit nomad family and get introduced their life style and taste dairy products. Then, we'll climb up to the mountain to see the splendid view and Ovgon temple ruin.

Day 4: Khustain Nuruu National Park

Stop At: Khustain Nuruu National Park, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
We will drive to the Khustai National Park located at 90 km to west from Ulaanbaatar. The National Park was originally set up in 1993 as a nature reserve for the reintroduction of the Prezwalski’s Horse (Takhi) into Mongolia. We’ll watch wild horses by binoculars. After lunch we'll drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
