Mount Abu from Udaipur - an Overnight Tour

Mount Abu is the only hill station in the West Indian state of Rajasthan. It is often referred to as ‘an oasis in the desert’. An excursion to Mount Abu is one of the highlights of most visitors to Rajasthan. On this overnight trip from Udaipur, visit the highest peak of the Aravalli hills, the exquisite Dilwara Jain temples and the first man-made lake of India.

Day 1 : Udaipur / Mount Abu.

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to Mount Abu which is about 105 miles from Udaipur. The drive will take around 3 hours.

Upon your arrival in Mount Abu, start your tour with a visit to the famous Dilwara temples. This is a cluster of 5 exquisitely carved temples that were built between the 11th and 13th century A.D. Today they are considered to be the most beautiful pilgrimage sites for the Jains in India. The ceilings and pillars of the temple are covered with the most intricately carved sculptures.

Next visit Guru Shikhar. This is the highest point of the Aravalli mountain range and is situated at a height of 5 650 feet above sea level. From here, take a look at the amazing panoramic view of Mount Abu.

In the afternoon, check into your hotel. At dusk head off to Sunset Point from where you can get a view of one of the most spectacular sunsets of Rajasthan.

After sunset enjoy a boat ride on Lake Nakki, the first man made lake of India.

Day 2: Mount Abu / Udaipur

Check out of your hotel after breakfast. At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to Udaipur and dropped-off at your hotel.
