Natural Dyeing and Weaving Experience in the Sacred Valley (Textile Workshop)

You will be involved in to an ancient tradition, with master weavers awarded by UNESCO.

This is the only tour in Cusco that allows you to live this kind of experiences.

We have received important people like Jean-Bernard Münch who is the president of the Swiss Commission for UNESCO since 2012.

This kind of experiences helps local people to give more value to what they do.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival to our workshop, you will receive a warm welcome from our artisans, Pututeros and Varayoc who will delight you with the magnificent sounds of the pututo and with some local customs of our community. Our local expert guide will receive you and will provide you with all the explanation about our project, textile trajectory, recognitions, the textile industry in general, etc. We will take you on a tour to our workshop where you will be able to appreciate all the demonstration of the process of making our garments, we will give you a theoretical talk about the ancestral dyeing and weaving and its history.
Then we will start with our experience at the workshop, the first activitie will be going out to collect plants, prepare the wool and dyeing process. for this activitie you will have an assistan who will guide you through the process of dyeing and weaving.

We will provide you all the materials required in the workshop and everything you produce can be taken home with a certificate issued by our workshop and signed by artisan teachers recognized by UNESCO.
