The route north takes you past the beautiful city of Stirling and its stunning castle. You will learn more about the exploits of William Wallace, as dramatised in the film Braveheart, and the turbulent times in which he lived. Glen Coe is broodingly beautiful and steeped in history. As you stand at the mouth of the glen, you’ll feel the past come to life as our guide tells you about the terrible massacre of the MacDonald Clan. Loch Ness is justly famous all over the world for its beauty and mystery. We visit the pretty village of Fort Augustus perched on the south end of the world’s most famous loch. You’ll have the option to join a cruise* and take in stunning views of Loch Ness and journey past Cherry Island and the striking Fort Augustus Abbey. Enjoy the stunning scenery as you travel through the spectacular and unique wilderness of the Cairngorms National Park. Our last stop will be the beautiful Highland town of Pitlochry, lying on the River Tummel. On our way back into Edinburgh, we’ll see the amazing Forth Railway Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
