The ancient city of Petra is one of Jordan's national treasures and by far the most famous tourist attraction. Petra is the legacy of the Nabataeans, the hardworking Arabs who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired at the time for its refined culture, huge architecture and masterful complex of dams and water canals, Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's seven new wonders.
Then we'll head to Little Petra, also known as Siq al-Barid is an archaeological site located north of Petra and the town of Wadi Musa in the Ma'an Governorate of Jordan. Like Petra, it is a Nabataean site, with buildings carved into the walls of the sandstone canyons. before returning to Amman.
