Itinerary
Rio’s highest peak, Pico da Tijuca (1022m – 3353ft), is located in the middle of the Tijuca Forest, and overlooks most of the city. It is also considered one of the best trails in Rio de Janeiro. Our tour starts with a visitation to Vista Chinesa and Taunay Waterfall (Rio's largest), both inside Tijuca Forest National Park. The trail to Pico da Tijuca starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro, a place up in the park, and lasts no more than one and a half hour. From there, we have a wonderful view of most of Tijuca Forest’s landmarks, besides the Maracanã Stadium, Guanabara Bay and a lot more. This is the perfect Tijuca Forest tour, with visitation to the main attractions and a hike to the highest mountain in Rio de Janeiro!
