Pokhara is Nepal’s favourite tourist destination with many hotels, bars, restaurants and shops. This attractive city on the beautiful Phewa Lake is located around 200 km west of Kathmandu at a level of 820 m. It is the second-largest city in Nepal.

Pokhara is the starting point for many trekking tours. Three of the ten highest mountains in the world are within a distance of 50 km from the city: Dhaulagiri (8.167 m), Annapurna 1 (8.091 m) and Manaslu (8.163 m).

On clear days Pokhara offers a breath-taking view on the snowy peaks of the wide Himalaya Range. The highlight of the skyline is the magnificent peak of Machhapuchhre (6.997 m).

But also, the city itself has many cultural and natural attractions. On the tour presented here, I am taking you on an exciting half-day trip through Pokhara and surroundings starting from sunrise at Sarangkot and ending with a visit to Devi's Falls.

Stop At: North East of Town Sarangkot, Pokhara 33411 Nepal

We begin our full day sightseeing tour early in the morning and pick you up from the hotel around 5:00 AM. After a short taxi drive (around 30 minutes) and a short hike (around 30 minutes), we arrive on the top of Sarangkot Hill (1,530 m) and enjoy truly breath-taking sunrise. From Sarangkot Hill we have a wonderful view on Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna 1 (8,091 m) and Machhapuchhre Himal (6,997 m) shining in the morning sun. After sunrise, we drop you at your hotel for breakfast.

Stop At: Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake), Pokhara Nepal

After breakfast, we continue our trip by boat on the Phewa Lake and visit the Barahi Temple. The offshore shrine is built on a small island in the mid-eastern part of the lake.

Stop At: World Peace Pagoda, Pamdi Bhambadi G.V, Pokhara 33700, Nepal

The next stop of our tour is the World Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist monument, one of many similar built around the world to promote world peace. The Stupa is situated at a height of 1,100 m. From the top of the Ananda Hill, we have a perfect view on the Himalayan Range, Phewa Lake and Pokhara city

The next point of our tour is Devi’s Fall, where the cascading waters of the Pardi Khola River disappear into an underground gorge and reappear a half kilometre away next to the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. Here our tour ends and we bring you back to your hotel.
