This lowland tropical wet forest has some of the most impressive ecosystems of the area. Located by Ulima, a countryside village 10 miles due East from La Fortuna.
The trail is very well conditioned for all kind of visitors. Benches along this flat 2 miles length way, will allow you rest and enjoy all those melodies and unique wonders of the forest.

Itinerary

Along the trail visitors will be able to appreciate a variety of species, such as Howler and Capuchin monkeys, sloths, amphibian, reptiles and an amazing concentration of birds, among them: Toucans, tanagers, trogons, manakins, flycatchers, herrons, egrets, kingfishers and many more. Of course, this description is not complete without mentioning the gigantic and unique ¨Centenarian trees¨. Kapoks (Ceiba pentandra), Sura (Terminalia oblonga), Wild Cashew (Anacardium excelsum), and one of the most important trees of the Neotropics: Tonka Bean or Almendro (Dipteryx panamensis), which is the main nesting spot and a significant food source for the majestic Great Green Macaw, which have started to become frequent in this forest paradise.
