We travel to the northern west part of Hungary. Our first stop is Esztergom, the former capital of Hungary, where we visit the Esztergom Basilica, the largest church of the country. (Esztergom is the Centre of the Roman Catholic Church in Hungary.) Here we have the chance also to cross the border and drive to Slovakia (Sturovo) for a great picture break.
We continue our tour to Visegrád, where we show you the early renaissance royal residence of King Matthias Corvinus and the medieval Citadel (today museum), from where you can marvel the unique panorama of the Danube Bend.
After the museum visit and the photo break we invite you for a three-course lunch in a nice local restaurant.
Our next stop is Szentendre, ”the colony of artists”, the most visited attraction of the Danube Bend. This small town is remarkable and popular for its mediterranean atmosphere and colorful architecture, the baroque houses, narrow streets, nice churches, several famous museums, gorgeous cafés and many souvenir shops.
We provide you here also some free time to discover the beauties of this remarkable town.
After that we drive back to Budapest, where the tour ends.
