While in Kasane, game drives are the most popular activity for most travellers that like to get outdoors. The drive from Kasane to Chobe National Park is less than 10mins, where you will have the privilege of going into a park with one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. Although it is only the third largest park in the country, it is the most biologically diverse, and Botswana's first national park. The park is known for its elephant populations which has built up from a few thousand to over 50,000 and is considered the highest elephant concentration in Africa.
On this activity you will be picked up from your lodge or hotel within Kasane to travel to the Chobe National Park. Pick up times will depend on the location of your hotel or lodge as we aim to be at the gates by 6:30am. Please remember to bring US$10 for entry into the park. The game drive will be done in a custom built 4×4 safari vehicle, with open sides which offer exceptional views. You will be in safe hands with a qualified safari guide who will drive you through the park. With the guides local experience and knowledge you will learn of the parks distinct ecosystem and it diverse range of animals. This is a fantastic opportunity for photographers to capture wildlife in a stunning landscape.
As it is a private game drive you are welcome to ask your guide to go searching for certain birdlife, wildlife or unique areas within the park.
After the game drive a buffet lunch will be served at a hotel on the river where you’ll have the opportunity to relax before heading out on a sunset cruise. You will join others on a specially adapted boat to glide along the river, through the exclusive islands that provide a haven for bird and wildlife. This will give you ample opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous river scenery and extraordinarily close views of lots of animals, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles and birdlife. The boat cruise is considered a “must do” when visiting Chobe National Park. Relax and enjoy the complimentary drinks offered on your Chobe River cruise.
After the cruise you will be transferred out of Chobe National Park by 6pm when you will return back to your lodge within Kasane. Special arrangements can be made if you are living outside of Kasane, such as Victoria Falls.
