Private Home Cooking Class with Shanghai Mama

Learn how to cook the most healthy and delicious Chinese dishes at a local Shanghai Mama's home. The friendly Shanghai Mama will share her ancient Chinese cooking secret with you, and you will also get hands on experience during cooking process. You are suggested to learn 2 home dishes, like Sauteed Green Beans with Minced Pork and Vegetable, Shanghai Fried noodles with Pakchoi or Shanghai dumplings. After cooking, you will enjoy your own cooked food and your Shanghai Mama will also prepare other delicious food for you. In addition, a local wet market tour is included.

Meet your lovely local guide at your hotel lobby at 10:00 am or 4:00 pm. Then take a private car to visit one of the biggest wet market in Shanghai first, followed by a visit to a local Shanghai Mama's home.

In the wet market, you will see and taste all kinds of local snacks first, you lovely local guide will pick the best of them for you to try. After that, you will start to see different kinds of fresh vegetables, hairy crabs, shrimp, meat and fruits. Your guide will help you to recognize them and explain you the Chinese food culture behind it.

Then, head to your cooking class at the Shanghai Mama's home, a typical locals' home built in 1950's - 1970's. Your local guide will explain you all the details about their life, which is the best way for you to see the locals' real life.

After tour finished, your guide will take you back to hotel or any downtown located place.
