Explore Jaipur, India’s “Pink City” by rickshaw at night.  Your tour takes you on a journey to see this iconic city as it presents itself after the sun has set. Temperatures, especially from late spring to fall are comfortable, an added bonus of touring the city during these late hours.  After enjoying the city, you will also partake in a delicious, traditional Rajasthani dinner with a local family, descendants of the elites that once ruled Rajasthan.

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Albert Hall Museum, the starting point for this unique tour. Cities look different at night and the two-hour private tour will show you that different face of Jaipur.  From the picturesque lanes and bylanes, to the many palaces and famously lit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), enjoy the changed atmosphere and rhythms of nightly Jaipur.

Your transport will consist of an E-rickshaw, which is a small vehicle, a hybrid between a bicycle and a cart. Jaipur is beautiful during the day. Its nightly character changes and a different beauty emerges. Experience small roads and side lanes, which have kept their ancient character.  Leave your rickshaw at Johari Bazaar, one of Jaipur’s busiest markets and walk to Sankotra Haveli. Sankotra Haveli was built in the 17th Century, when the town of Jaipur was founded and granted to the Sankotra Family in 1668. It has its own unique charm, being very close to Sanganeri Gate, the main entrance to Johari Bazaar.  The haveli (private mansion) is popularly known as Kanch Ka Darwaja because of the beautiful glass work inside, and it is one of the oldest Havelis in Jaipur City.  Sankotra Haveli has been the official residence of the Sankotra Family for the past eight generations. View its original architecture, which consists of seven terraces and three open courtyards overlooking the building, with over twenty rooms in all.

After going through the Haveli, you will have a chance to learn how to make some Indian dishes, witness a traditional cooking demonstration and understand the techniques and essential ingredients of Rajasthani cuisine. Enjoy a succulent dinner with three generations of the noble Sankotra family. After dinner, you will be escorted back to your hotel in your air-conditioned vehicle.
