Zhujiajiao is a famous ancient water town with the shape of a spread-out folding fan, by the vast waters of the Dianshan Lake and flanked by the North Hill with nine peaks. The ancient town of Zhujiajiao is like a lustrous pearl studded on the Dianshan Lake and cloaked with the beauty of the lake and the hills. The town is crossed by numerous rivers, along which run 9 long and narrow streets and stand a thousand ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A total of thirty six ancient stone bridges span the rivers, leading you to a number of historic sites.

Your guide and driver will pick you up from hotel lobby at 10 am (weekend tours can be started early at 9 am). It will take one hour to driver to the 600-year-old Water Town Zhujiajiao which is often compared to Venice. You can start the tour by taking a boat to get an idea of the old time life style in Southern China. Then walk along the old alley to see more local buildings and bridges, such as the FangSheng Bridge which is built about 400 years ago in the Ming Dynasty. Also, you will visit the 100 years old KeZhi Garden. The garden is dotted with pavilions, ponds, and bridges which add to the beauty of the natural landscape. During lunch time, your tour guide will make some recommendation for local restaurants there, and lunch meal is at your own expense. You will visit some local shops in the afternoon. After finishing the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel or back to port in Shanghai.
