7.30am: Your day starts early today with a short visit to Thuy Thanh village where we can see the lively morning market. This is where the locals come to by their daily food. Nearby are the 300 years old Thanh Toan Tile - Roofed Bridge and a Farm Museum where you can visit and talk to the locals. Continue on to the Forbidden Purple City, former home to the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 – 1945.
This afternoon, you will visit Minh Mang Royal tomb, set amidst a lush pine hill by the river and considered to be one of the most beautiful mausoleums. Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda, sitting on the riverbank outside the city, this octagonal seven tier stupa has long been regarded as the symbol of Hue and was founded in 1601. Lastly, enjoy a cruise downstream to watch sunset on the Perfume River, named after the tree resins and blossoms it carries on its way to the Pacific.
