Itinerary

Day 1: Bucharest - Sinaia - Brasov - Sighisoara

Stop At: Peles Castle, Str. Pelesului 2, Sinaia 106100 Romania
Peles Castle is the most impressive castle in Romania and a must-see attraction if you’re passionate about stories of royalty, splendid architecture and history. The summer residence of the royal family until 1948 when it was confiscated by the communist regime, the castle from Sinaia is today, like in its first years, one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.

Stop At: Brasov Historical Center, Piazza Sfatului, Brasov Romania
Brasov or "Kronstadt (“the city of the crown”) under its German name is an old medieval citadel, first documented in 1235 and the most important commercial center from all the seven German Medieval Cities of Transylvania.
Enjoy a lovely walk on the narrow and cobblestone streets of the old city center. You will see The Council Square, The Council Tower, The famous Black Church (the largest Gothic construction in Eastern part of Europe).

Over 600 years old, the Black Church from Brasov is the most iconic historical monument from this old Transylvanian town. The origins of Sighisoara city go back to the Roman times.
During the First Century AD, the Dacians (ancient inhabitants of the territory of modern Romania which eventually will develop into the Romanian people), built a fortification called Sandava.
Under the Roman administration it was known as Castrum Stenarum.
During the 12th century, the Transylvanian Saxons built a new citadel which was named Schäßburg.

Day 2: Sighisoara - Bran (Dracula's Castle) - Bucharest

You will start the day by visiting the citadel of Sighisoara (UNESCO Monument), the only medieval citadel in Europe which is still inhabited. Here time seems to run after other patterns, visitors feel like in a journey back time when knights and fair ladies used to fall in love before dating and freedom was the priceless treasure of the community. You will find out the story of the citadel, you will see the well preserved walls and towers of defense and admire the medieval houses aligned along narrow old streets.

Stop At: Sighisoara Clock Tower, Strada Turnului, Sighisoara 545400 Romania
The tower was built in the 14th century and expanded 200 years later. It remains the prettiest sight in town, offering a magnificent panorama from the top.

This is an old wood and stone staircase of 175 steps used by the children to reach the Hill School.

The Church on the Hill is one the of most important sights of Sighisoara and the third largest church in Transylvania.

Stop At: Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Str. General Traian Mosoiu nr. 24, Bran 507025 Romania
Bran Castle was built between 1377 and 1388 atop a strategic site overlooking a heavily trafficked mountain pass between Transylvania and Wallachia, the land over which Vlad the Impaler ruled in the 15th century. Also known as Vlad III Dracula, the ruler is widely believed to be the inspiration for Count Dracula due to his historic bloodlust. He liked to torture people and would impale his enemies on the battlefield to deter his other enemies. During invasions, he was also known to use the scorched-earth policy, a military strategy that consists of destroying any possible resource that the enemy could use by poisoning water supplies and burning crops.
