Stop At: Chateau Ksara, Ksara, Zahle Lebanon

Château Ksara is Lebanon's oldest and most visited winery, attracting some 100,000 visitors per year.

Located in the Bekaa Valley and founded in 1857 by Jesuit Priests, Château Ksara developed the first dry wine in Lebanon. The winery produces approximately 3 million bottles annually. Due to a large Lebanese diaspora all over the world, it can be found and purchased in many different countries. Its wines are exported to over 42 countries. Main export markets include Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, Africa, Australia and Arab Countries.

Between 2005 and 2015, Château Ksara saw the introduction of new grape varieties in the Bekaa valley. It has also seen developments in technique such as vines cultivation on wires and the attentive application of advanced science by French oenologists, who watch over the vinification, fermentation and decanting processes.

Today, the wines of Château Ksara have a specific character, described as a "rare balance of dry fruitiness, of delicacy and coarseness, and of freshness and vigour.

Stop At: Chateau Kefraya, Kafraiya Lebanon

The West Bekaa region offers a rich cultural heritage and history and one of them is Chateau Kefraya. This winery offers a guided tour of the estate. The “train” leaves l’Allée du Château and takes you to a tour of the vineyards, until the “observation point” and its panoramic view over the vines.

Explore the exceptional site of Dahr-el-Moghr and its hypogea or underground tomb, a reminiscence of the Roman presence in the 3rd century A.D.

In the museum, discover Château Kefraya’s history, then take a tour of the cellar where you will learn the different steps of winemaking before reaching the Treasure Room where Château Kefraya’s most valuable vintages rest, some of them is still available for sale at the showroom.

In the heart of the vineyards, treat yourself to a delicious meal at Le Relais Dionysos and enjoy great vintages at friendly prices. Exquisite food and wine pairing are also proposed in the warm Chimney Room.

Take a stroll in the winery’s parks, all named after famous opera composers.

Established in 1990 by Saïd Touma and his family on a hill overlooking the Bekaa valley, Château St Thomas estate is a vineyard spreading over sixty-five hectares and a wine storehouse for fermentation and ageing. On this very land of the Bekaa valley, the Romans had once created the Temple of Bacchus, a tribute to the Roman god of wine. Throughout history, this land still shows unlimited potential to produce great wines. Château St Thomas is the masterpiece of Saïd Touma & his son Joe-Assaad. Saïd Touma, a man of passion with more than 55 years’ experience in distillation & fermentation of grape juice who inherited the legacy of producing Arak (Lebanese national drink), & passed it to his son Joe-Assaad, an agronomist & winemaker
