Discover Bruges by bike

We fietsen door de steegjes en straten van de historische binnenstad. Nadien ontdekken we de stadsmuren. Daar fietsen we onder de bomen en langs de kanalen. Zo zie je de molens maar tevens de 14de eeuwse poorten. De gids geeft je informatie over de bezienswaardigheden. We ontdekken enkele godshuisjes, de brouwerij van de halve maan en het stadspaleis. Ze neemt je mee op een verrassende ontdekkingstocht door heen deze Unesco werelderfgoed stad.

We start on the market square. This is a central point in the city. We walk to the rental store to adjust your bike. Then we will ride through the cit to discover the different artworks of the Triënnale.

Stop At: Stadhuis, Burg 12, Bruges 8000 Belgium

On the Burg we will see the work of Nadia Kaabi-Linke. It is called "Inner circle". The Burg also houses the city administration. The City Hall is a breathtaking Gothic building. It is decorated with statues of the Counts of Flanders.

Near St. Walburga's church we will find the monumental and monochrome sculpture "Danse Macabre" of Hans Op de Beeck

In the Poortersloge there's a group exhibition to explore the theme: between dream and nightmare. On the same square stands a bird nest of Villar Rojas. It belongs to the series From the Brick Farm. We continue along the installations of Amanda Browder, Jon Lott, Nadia Naveau and Henrique Oliveira.

The textile installation of Nnenna Okore accentuates the shape of the tower on the city walls. In this late medieval tower gunpowder was stored.

Stop At: Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Potterie, Potterierei 79, Bruges 8000 Belgium

In this hospital nuns took on the care of pilgrims. Many sick were welcomed and treated. Laura Splan exposes her work. The artist is fascinated by the molecular structures of viruses. She uses traditional and contemporary techniques, such as weaving and 3D printing. Nearby Gregor Schneider created the installation "Black lightning". We we end with the artwork of Gijs Van Varenbergh.
