Stop At: Colosseum, Piazza del Colosseo, 00184 Rome Italy
You will meet your guide and the rest of your small, friendly group at our office, conveniently located near the entrance to the Roman Forum and about 5 minutes walk from the Colosseum. Your group will receive headsets to ensure you that you can clearly hear your guide at all times. Your enthusiastic, licensed guide will then begin with a short introduction to Ancient Rome whilst your group heads to the Colosseum, to ensure every member of the group is up to speed! At the Colosseum you will enter through a skip-the-line group entrance, avoiding the long queue for tickets. Once inside, a member of staff will be on-hand to open the restricted areas of the Colosseum (the dungeons, the arena) just for your group! Like the gladiators of Ancient Rome, you will step out onto the arena. With your guide to explain the spectacles that took place in this magnificent theater you will almost be able to hear the roars of the crowd! However, the life of a gladiator was not all fame and glory. You will also learn about the more gory aspects of their lives. Where better to view this than in the dungeons, where they and the animals were held before the famous combats? Here you will be able to imagine the pre-game nerves and also explore the fascinating architecture and mechanisms in the Colosseum that made the different shows that took place possible. After your visit to the restricted areas your tour will continue to the regular areas of the Colosseum, where your guide will continue to fascinate you with anecdotes of this amazing structure and the people that frequented it.
