7:00am - 5:00pm
Rocky Creek is one of the most magnificent Blue Mountains canyons and is regarded by insiders as a "must do".
A short 10 minute walk leads you to Twister Canyon. After wetsuits are fitted the fun begins. This canyon is also known as Sheep Dip. You literally jump into a pool, swim across and slide or jump into the next one for a total of 8 pools. It's drenching!
We then exit the canyon and follow a trail for 30 minutes through a spectacular valley lined with tree ferns and arrive at the start of Rocky Creek. This canyon is of a completely different nature. 70 metre high walls tower overhead and many tunnel swims, waterfall scrambles and rock slides takes us to the sunshine at the end.
We actually reverse this canyon to the start. From here a 30 minute walk takes us back to the vehicles.
We meet bright and early at our office in Katoomba at 7 am (Due to the early start we strongly suggest that you stay in Katoomba the night before)
We do all the introductions and paper work.
We then head down to our gear room where we get organised with all the equipment.
Once that's done we jump into one of the High and Wild vehicles and its an hour drive to a remote part of the National park.
The walk into the canyon is quite short and once there we get into the wet suits, your clothes go into a dry bag and canyon pack.
Then it's water jump after water jump after water jump.
When we get to the end of Twister canyon we walk through a stunning fern lined valley.
We normally have lunch at this spot.
We pre-make the lunch at the office
