Enjoy visits Sagres and Lagos by driving along the beautiful southwest Portugal's coast – Costa Alentejana, 300 km south of Lisbon, affords a rewarding 10 hours tour experience. Cross the 25 Abril Bridge in the direction of the South of Portugal and Alentejo coast, stopping to see Sines an old fishing town best known in Portugal as the birthplace of the explorer Vasco da Gama. See Vasco da Gama’s statue, with its square-like silhouette, faces the sea just a next Sines castle. Vasco da Gama earned his place in history during his voyage to India between 1497 and 1499, becoming the first European to get to India by sea, expanding the Portuguese Empire, opening up world trade and ushering in the colonial era. Continuing along the Alentejo coast a beautiful part of Portugal, especially around Vicentina Coast Natural Park. Before arriving Sagres to Lunch, discover the west coast of Portugal, like Vila Nova de Milfontes, São Teotónio, Odemira, Aljezur and see some of Portugal's finest beaches such as Zambujeira do Mar. Arriving Sagres enjoys Algarve’s delicious seafood-prominent regional cuisine like the wonderful bounty of seafood (and actually some of the tastiest seafood I’ve had in all of Portugal) or fresh sea fish grilled. Then have time to visit the main tourist attraction of Sagres: Cape St. Viscent and Sagres Fort. On return to Lisbon stop in Lagos and see the view site of Ponta da Piedade behind the lighthouse, to view stretches from Cape St-Vincent to the west to Cape Carvoeiro in the east. Stop at Lagos City Center to shop before start the return to Lisbon.
Your tour also includes a free and flexible pick-up (7:30AM) and drop-off (7:00PM) from your located accommodations, private driver/guide and Lunch.
