Samaria Day Tour from Rethimno & Chania

Enjoy one of two journeys to the Samaria gorge with a professional guide. Choose the long option, where you will trek for approximately 6-7 hours or the easy option, where you will hike for around 4.5-5 hours. Both choices will give you time to enjoy lunch in a typical tavern and swimming in the Lybian Sea.

Early in the morning we start our excursion from  North parts of Rethymno areas and also from Chania area and from different pick up points that provide easy access from all hotels. We inform you by email by sending you the voucher with the pick up point and the time in order to there and meet your bus. You have a telephone number in case of emergency.

Samaria Long Way Option

Begin the journey with an early morning pickup from your centrally located accommodations. From there, you will drive through the mountains, passing the plateau of Omalos, for an arrival at the wooden stairs near the beginning of the gorge. The guide will give you the option to start the walk immediately or enjoy breakfast at the taverna before taking off. Once you are ready, you will begin the 6-7 hour walk through the area. Afterwards, enjoy a swim in the Lybian Sea and lunch at a taverna in Agia Roumeli. Collect ferry tickets from your guide, then begin the journey back to your hotel.

Samaria Easy Way Option Available From Chania Only

For this option, you will again, begin with a pickup from your hotel. Depart the area and drive through the mountains to the picturesque village of Chora Sfakion. Board a ferry and sail along the south coast up to the fishing village of Agia Roumeli. Stroll to the entrance of the national park or even further to the more narrow and impressive section of the gorge, known as "Iron Gate". Walk as fast and far as you please through the scenic landscape before taking time to swim in the waters of the Libyan Sea. Enjoy lunch at a local tavern, then sail back to Chora Sfakion. Upon your arrival, take the awaiting coach back to your hotel.
