Learn about how writing developed before seeing the Hammurabi code. From here you will be guided to the oldest piece of artwork in the Louvre, which very few visitors manage to reach on their own. You will then continue your art history workshop with Greek Hellenistic masterpieces such as the Venus de Milo before moving into Roman and Etruscan sculptures. The goal of the antiquities portion of the tour is to show you why and how art evolved and where you can still see its influence in the modern world. You will move on the see the development of painting, from byzantine to Italian renaissance and then French romantic and neoclassical paintings before finishing full-circle surrounded by Italian sculptures 9000 years younger than the oldest piece of artwork you saw at the beginning of your adventure!
