Shore Excursion: Alexandria City Tour from Alexandria Port

Your Egyptologist will meet you at the exit of the port with a sign displaying your name, then you will depart for a lovely day tour of Alexandria to visit Pompey's Pillar. It was built in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally from the temple of the Serapis. Then you drive to visit the Catacombs which are the oldest Roman tomb consisting of three levels cut in the rock. Lunch is at local restaurant in Alexandria, and then you will go to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient Pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria then to Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Finally yoy will explore the artifacts of the National museum of Alexandria dating back to ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman< Christian and Islamic eras. At the end of your tour you will be transferred back to your cruise ship at Alexandria Port.
