Shore Excursion: Local Tasting Tour from Tauranga

A day of Epicurean delights, visiting medal-winning wineries and finishing with a cocktail and dessert at our last venue, in the bustling Tauranga CBD. Clients enjoy the diversity of venues and the variety of tastings. A chance to treat your palate!
This approximately 61/2-hour small group tour has a range of great sights to see on the way and the starting time can be adjusted to accommodate variations in ship arrival time.

Itinerary

Stop At: Port of Tauranga Ltd, 2 Salisbury Avenue, Mount Maunganui 3116, New Zealand

Our accredited agent driver/guide will meet you at the port gate & escort you to the vehicle in which you will be travelling. The driver/guide will have your name on a placard.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Karangahake, Karangahake, Waikato Region, North Island

The Local Tasting Tour commences by travelling north, through scenic countryside,for a wine presentation & tasting at the boutique Karangahake Estate Winery (formerly Ohinemuri Winery) in the picturesque Karangahake Gorge. The tasting is accompanied by a sumptuous platter.

Duration: 2 hours 45 minutes

Stop At: The Wine Portfolio Ltd., 2389 State Highway 2, Aongatete 3178, New Zealand

We then return towards Tauranga to The Wine Portfolio, now home to the prestigious wines of Leveret Estate & Mills Reef Winery. (The former Mills Reef Winery no longer exists.) This will be another opportunity to sample excellent NZ wines, and to ask questions about NZ wine styles & terroir.

Stop At: Tauranga, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty Region, North Island

The tour returns to Tauranga for dessert & a cocktail at The iki Bar, in the boutique Clarence Hotel. The hotel stands within the walls of a beautifully restored building, which was formerly the Historic Tauranga Post Office
