Feast on a dinner of San Sebastian’s best pintxos, favorites handpicked by your local, professional guide out of the countless possibilities! On this 3-hour, small-group tour, you will visit San Sebastian’s most authentic, locally-loved pintxos bars and learn about the city’s pintxos culture. You'll go beyond just pintxos, also learning the stories of the families and owners behind the bar.

Meet your guide and the rest of your group at the meeting point in the center of the city and get ready for a night of delicious pintxos and Spanish wine on this walking tour! On this evening tour, you’ll enjoy the best food in the city in a small group of no more than 8 to 10 people, accompanied by an expert, English-speaking guide.

From the meeting point, your guide will lead you on a stroll through the Old Town to six of their favorite family-run pintxos bars, pointing out interesting historical and cultural landmarks along the way.

At the first stop, you’ll visit a bar that was one of the first in Spain to specialize their menu and focus on only one thing. Here, you’ll enjoy seafood pintxos paired with local cider. A great start to a delicious evening!

Over the next several stops you’ll move on to Spain’s famous acorn-fed ham, delicious beef from the area, seared cod, suckling pig and more. You’ll even visit a pintxos bar where the family that runs it has been working on their anchovy recipe for generations—at least 120 years! Your guide will pair each pintxo with its perfect local beverage, from Basque cider, to Txakoli white wine, to local red wines, and even a liqueur from northern Spain.

As the evening goes on, you’ll get to know six hidden taverns that your guide has handpicked. You’ll taste the house specialty at each one, and you’ll learn firsthand that the best pintxos in San Sebastian range from traditional and local to gourmet and modern. As you move from stop to stop, your guide will give you tips on how make the most of your pintxos experience in San Sebastian and how to “do” pintxos like the locals do!

Finally, it’ll be time for dessert! Hopefully you will have saved some room, because this award-winning cheesecake is not something you want to miss. Pair it with sweet sherry or a local liqueur and you’ll agree that the combination is unbeatable!

The tour ends in the city center, and you’ll leave with recommendations of more fantastic places to eat and drink in San Sebastian, as well as everything you need to know to order and enjoy yourself in the bars and restaurants of the city.
