Snowshoe Tour from the Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge in Rovaniemi

Snowshoeing is a great way to experience Lapland's wintry wildernesses, enjoy the fresh and clean air and get some exercise with this 2.5-hour guided trek. People in the Arctic areas have been using snowshoes already for centuries as they were originally intended to assist people in travelling the snowy landscapes.

Be picked up from your central Rovaniemi hotel in the early afternoon. After a 20-minute transfer, you will arrive at the Wilderness Lodge, a traditional lumberjack manor nestled by the beautiful river of Raudanjoki. Cross the walking bridge to the river island where you can admire frozen rapids.

You will get all the equipment you need, and once you're ready, head for the forests trail. Using snowshoes is easy, you don’t need to be a skilled skier to learn what snowshoe hiking is all about. (Reasonably good balance and warm clothing is all you need.)

During the trip, take a break to make an open fire where you can enjoy hot chocolate drink and sweet buns in the lovely wintry atmosphere.

After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel in Rovaniemi.
