Soweto Half Day Tour

Explore the South West Township City of Soweto on these history filled Tour. These tour will take you deep in into South Africa black only Township where the history of Apartheid traces its roots from. Soweto has one of the largest black population in South Africa and has a very rich history of what transpired during apartheid days. Some of the houses were built during apartheid days and the dark past is demostrated in two iconic museums called Hector Peterson and Nelson Mandela House Museum with each having a deep sad past depicted in the photos at both museums.

We depart from Our hotel In sandton heading to South West Township ( Soweto) we take a designated route through Johannesburg South Suburbs through Johannesburg sleek cars and spacious freeways. We go past Johannesburg City with its tall buildings most of them build during apartheid Era as we make our way to Soweto. Soon the beautiful scenery will disapper as we enter Soweto which has a population of just over 2 million black residents. We pass through two iconic landmarks that used to house power generation and normally used for Bunjee jumping. We drive through Soweto heading to the famous Hector Pieterson Museum with its dark history about the Youth uprising in 1976. From here we drive through Soweto for Sightseeing and finally head to Mandela House Museum on Vilakazi street. Here we get to know about these Man who became a world Icon and finally hop on back to our Tour Van heading back to Our hotel in Johannesburg. We pass through FNB stadium which hosted the opening and closing matches of the 2010 World Cup finals. On our way back to the hotel we will drive past Johannesburg City again as we make it back to the hotel
