Springtide Lunch Sailing Cruise Knysna

If you enjoy sailing, this experience, followed by a delicious lunch, is the perfect way to bring a little luxury into your Knysna adventure. This activity also provides an ideal way to view the spectacular scenery and marine life of the world-renowned Garden Route coastline. The route takes you over the Knysna lagoon, through the impressive Knysna Heads and out into the true freedom of the open ocean.  After a magnificent sail, we return to the calmer waters of the Knysna Estuary and serve a delicious feast of Mediterranean style cuisine. All our trips are ocean going trips and are weather and sea conditions dependent. Only the skipper of the vessel can make a judgement call on these conditions which are determined on the day of the charter. Conditions are influenced by tide, wind direction & speed and sea swell, therefore going out through the Knysna Heads is never guaranteed.

Our Lunch Sailing Cruise departs at either 10am or 11am daily. Guests are required to check-in 15min before departure time at our kiosk at Knysna Waterfront where our 50ft mono-haul yacht, the Outeniqua is moored adjacent to Dry Dock restaurant. Before boarding we require guests to sign on the indemnity form and remove their shoes. Once everyone is aboard and ready to go we depart from the waterfront and make our way across the estuary towards the Knysna Heads. Drinks can be ordered from the crew who will keep you entertained and informed about the beautiful area and the interesting history that it has to offer. Just before we proceed through the Knysna heads our crew will assist with life jackets that will be worn during the duration of the trip out at sea. Our aim is to sail and if the wind, sea and weather conditions are in our favor we will deploy our sails and let the wind carry us through the big blue. Keep your eyes peeled for any activity on the ocean we are often spoiled with amazing sightings of dolphins, seals, penguins, bird life and even whales! After an enjoyable sail out at sea our skipper will return to the Knysna estuary where we will remove life jackets. Our crew will proceed to set up our aft deck to serve a scrumptious light lunch (can be catered to dietary requirements on request) while you sit back and take in the picturesque views of the unique Knysna estuary. Our skipper will slowly take you back in to the waterfront where we will moor and say our goodbyes. Our crew will take payment for any extra drinks that have been purchased during trip at this point.
