The ramparts of Fez testify today, thanks to several restorations, from different periods of
construction. In rammed earth, in bricks or in rubble, the ramparts are pierced by several fortified doors
monumental. The Tour des remparts offers you a visit to the gates including Bab Boujloud and the tour des
ramparts, passing by the Kasbah of the Filala founded between 1199 and 1214 under the Almohad dynasty for
welcome Tafilalet emigrants. Next come the Kasbah des Cherrardas then the Borj Nord, fortress
built in 1582 by the Saadian sultan Ahmed El Mansour and which shelters the museum of the Arms. From Borj
North with the vestiges of the Necropolis of the Sultans Merinides, the entire medina of Fez is spread out at your feet in one
striking panorama. The ramparts then lead you to Bab Guissa, north entrance of the medina in front
the Jamai Palace, an ancient Vizier palace dating from the 18th century and transformed into a luxury hotel. Round
outside the city continues with the potters' district, a huge workshop where artisans demonstrate their
skill and their know-how by shaping all kinds of everyday objects: pottery, zelliges, tiles ...
